        The Weather Channel television network was honored this week with five awards from the 2017 PromaxBDA Promotion, Marketing and Design Awards in their North American and Global design awards competitions across a range of design and marketing categories. The network earned a gold award from PromaxBDA for their “Live Augmented Reality - Severe” segment in the Global Art Direction & Design: Informational Graphics category.

        The Weather Channel television network was nominated for an Emmy in the 39th Annual News and Documentary Emmy? Awards for "Outstanding Coverage of a Breaking News Story in a Newscast" for our Hurricane Harvey coverage in 2018. Our submission discussed how The Weather Channel provided breaking coverage of this urgent and evolving story, totalling 188 hours of continuous, live reporting, both in-the-field and from the studio. The nominations were announced on July 26th, 2018 by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and were presented on October 1st, 2018, at a ceremony in New York City. This honor further proves that there is only one name that matters when it comes to national weather coverage and that is The Weather Channel.
